Leading the New to Dare and Innovate : The SAP Young Professional Program

Appcentric Solutions Inc. searches for those who dare to make a difference – in the way they act, collaborate, and lead. We strive and win by living a culture where people and performance matter. We cultivate the spirits of our associates by providing them with dynamic activities and experiences that nourish both their professional and individual lives. We are always on the lookout for the next great minds to inspire industry leaders to embrace digital transformation.

The SAP Young Professional Program was developed by the SAP Training and Development Institute (SAP TDI), where they offer a training initiative to unemployed or underemployed young professionals from across the country, who are passionate about starting a career in technology. It is also in line with SAP’s vision to improve people’s lives by shaping the next generation of talents in the Philippines by supporting sustainable employment opportunities for top graduates from local universities.

This three-month course is composed of numerous SAP Skills and lectures which allowed the graduates to gain professional experience on a set of SAP solutions, as well as SAP certification for SAP HANA Platform and SAP Business Intelligence. The curriculum also included soft skill workshops on Design Thinking, interview techniques, communication, and presentation skills.

Last January, our team gathered 8 of the best graduates from the YPP program (Young Professional Program) to test their leadership, cognitive abilities, and how they work under pressure. We have divided them into two groups and assigned a couple of our very own SAP Senior Consultants to evaluate their performances during an exciting activity that we had prepared for them. Appcentric sent these young professionals to one of the trendiest places in town, The Mystery Manila. We started the activity by having a toss coin session to identify which mystery room each team will be assigned. After discovering their chamber, they must then work as a team to unlock the mystery behind each room and escape the hollow. Each team was given an hour to collaborate, communicate, and execute their plans. The goal of the activity was to identify which of these graduates will rise from the base to the top.

Mr. Alex Benavidez, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Appcentric Solutions Inc. voiced how proud he is to see young Filipino talents flourish and gain access to a leading industry credential and the network to thrive in today’s dynamic digital world. He also shared some personal stories to further inspire these young professionals. Appcentric is aware that this generation is different and needs to be cultivated in the most creative and unique way possible. We closed the day with a feast and celebrated our new found friends.
